Our first ever social-first serial project, IRL/url, curated and produced by Art21 and presented by the CHANEL Culture Fund, brought together a group of artists in an exploration of artists’ identity and selfhood online and offline.

Taking the lead on the production, directing, and post, we filmed with the artists over the course of 6 months places near and far as NYC, Hong Kong, London, Paris and Berlin, and beyond. Captured across more than 40 self-contained short videos, each 1-2 minutes long, the series features eight artists who explore the threats and possibilities of our increasingly hybridized lives; push the boundaries of artificial intelligence and augmented reality; navigate modes of representation online and off; and explore new forms of identity in our rapidly changing world.

Featuring Neïl Beloufa, Jacky Connolly, Julien Creuzet, Sara Cwynar, Ho Tzu Nyen, Xin Liu, Rachel Rossin, and Jacolby Satterwhite, this series will premier online on TikTok and art21.org.
